This short series, &lsquo;A Summer of Flux&rsquo;, takes us from June to September, covering how MFIs across the world reacted to the Covid-19 crisis. It tries to shed light on how the pandemic has affected institutions, their clients and staff; and how those institutions are responding (with varying degrees of success) to the challenges they&rsquo;re facing. This article, in particular, discusses the external factors over which these MFIs had no control and how these factors affected them.
