Yasar is a Partner in startups working on Public Sector and Social Impact (www.taqarabu.com and www.iag.sg), and co-founder of the first Arabic portal for Digital Government (www.01government.com).
From 2008 – 2012, Yasar was a Partner at Bain & Company and headed the Public Sector practice. Before that, he was a Partner at PwC for four years and led the Middle East Strategy Group and Global Education Group.
Prior to PwC, Yasar served as the founding Executive Dean of the Dubai School of Government and as a Research Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He was also appointed a Senior Advisor to the Harvard International Negotiations Program.
Yasar also served as the Strategy Advisor at The Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Ruler of Dubai) for over 3 years and a Senior Advisor at the Prime Minister’s Office of the United Arab Emirates federal government.
In 2005, Yasar led the national team who developed the Jordan National Agenda 2015, and before Jordan he was the Head of Policy and Strategy in the Executive Council of the Dubai Government since 2000.
Prior to that, Yasar worked in the UK as a Research Fellow in Cranfield School of Management (where he remains a Visiting Fellow today) and Bradford School of Management, and advised leading international organizations including DHL UK, Bank of Scotland, Shell, SABIC, and Arla Foods.
In 2009, Yasar was distinguished as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF), and was selected as the Vice Chair of the Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Government in 2015.
